First Lady Gayle
Manchin Will Host
Children's Health
Forum
First
Lady Gayle Manchin
will host the Child
Health Forum on
November 2-3, 2006.
This is the second
annual event on
child health hosted
by the First Lady.
Last year, the Child
Health Conference
explored topics in
child health
including
prevention, obesity,
quality of care,
oral health, school
health and perinatal
health. This year we
are sponsoring a
smaller event with
three plenary
sessions and a
number of updates.
The purpose of the
forum is to continue
the State
conversation on
child health,
celebrate our
progress and come to
consensus around the
most urgent issues.
Co-hosts for the
forum will be Joan
Phillips, MD,
president of the
West Virginia
Chapter of the
American Academy of
Pediatrics and
Fernando Indocochea,
MD, president elect.
