Outreach
The WV Healthy Kids Coalition
searches West Virginia to find community
organizations who regularly come into contact with children
and families with inadequate health insurance. It provides
the organizations, or "partners," with
information and money so they can better identify those in
need and connect them with help. With Coalition assistance,
the partner organizations:
-
provide schools, churches, employers, social agencies,
associations and health care providers in their areas
with information about free and low-cost health care such
as that paid for by the West Virginia Children's Health
Insurance program or Medicaid
-
assist eligible families enroll for free or low-cost
health care.
-
help families who have had trouble with the enrollment
process or have been denied coverage to get that
coverage or find alternative help.
-
increase public awareness of programs that pay for
health care.
